Madison teen starts landscaping companyPublished 1:04pm Tuesday, January 18, 2011
There is a new business in Madison, and the age of its owner might be surprising.
Madison resident and Liberty Landscaping owner, Jeremy Wenger, is just 18 years old.
Wenger founded Liberty Landscaping in November 2010 after working with his father’s tree service.
“I worked with my dad for six years before he passed away, and then decided to do this on my own,” Wenger said. “I really enjoy doing this.”
Wenger received his G.E.D. from Sparkman High School at the age of 16.
He hopes to one day go into ministry, and feels his landscaping company is a stepping stone in that direction.
“I think this is one step to getting closer to that goal,” Wenger said.
Wenger said he named his company after Leviticus 25:10, the Bible verse that is inscribed on the Liberty Bell. Wenger said he chose this historical and biblical reference because the Liberty Bell was rung in celebration of the troops returning after World War II.
Wenger said he hopes his clients have that kind of celebration after seeing his work.
Liberty Landscaping offers services including: general lawn maintenance, sod installation and pressure washing.
They serve Huntsville, Madison, Decatur and Athens, and can be reached at 256-975-7095 or www.libertylandscaping.net.
