Our precious mother, daughter and sister, Joan Markley of Huntsville, has gone home to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Mrs. Markley is survived by her sons, Jules Markley and Jared Markley; her daughter, Jadah Markley of Huntsville; her mother, Bonnie McMichael of Clanton; her father, John J. McMichael of Gulfport, Miss.; her three sisters, Charlotte McMichael Mason of Norfolk, Va., Linda Cruthirds of Destin, Fla., and Carol McMichael of Tirol, Austria; and her brother, John Glenn McMichael of Biloxi, Miss.
She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Markley graduated from Biloxi High School in 1979. She proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1982 through 1986 as an electrician’s mate on board the USS Jason stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Joan Markley was employed with The Orthopaedic Center at Franklin Medical Center in Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Stop Homeless Shelter, 206 Stokes St., Huntsville, AL 35802. Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville is assisting the family.
