On Saturday Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m., David Michael Smith will officially announce his intention to run for public office and kick off his campaign for Madison County Commission District 2.
The event will be at The Radisson Hotel, Apollo Conference Room in Madison. The Radisson is located on Madison Boulevard in Madison near Wal-Mart.
Smith is a 25-year old Army Iraq Combat Veteran and served during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2007-2009.
He is married to his wife, Angelica, who is also an Army Iraq Combat Veteran. Together, they have a daughter, Leila. The family lives in Madison.
Smith and his family are members of Sherwood Baptist Church in Huntsville where they were married and where he is serving as a deacon.
He majored in political science with a minor in business/economics at the University of Alabama Huntsville.
