Injunction issued against storm shelter company

Judge Dennis O’Dell has made a ruling in the controversial case against Tornado Masters.

A local storm shelter manufacturing company was accused of deceptive business practices by Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange earlier this year, leading to a hearing in Madison County that would essentially force the company to close its doors for good.

O’Dell issued a permanent injunction against Tornado Masters, meaning that they’re banned from “engaging in the business of or participating or being involved in the design, construction, manufacturing, advertising, sale, delivery, installation, inspection, repair, of or in consultation about tornado shelters, safe rooms, or similar products whether or not for profit within or from Alabama or with Alabama customers.”

All bank accounts both personal and business have been frozen and placed under the control of a Permanent Receiver, who now will have the task of determining which customers will be refunded and just how much money they’ll receive.
