Pharmacy robbed in Hazel Green

The Rite Aid on Highway 231 in Hazel Green was robbed Friday afternoon around 4:00 p.m.

According to Sergeant T. A. Miller, an off-duty Huntsville police officer pulled into the Rite Aid parking lot, and spotted four masked men walking into the pharmacy. The off-duty officer then called 911, and said two of the men spotted him and ran away while the other two went inside the store.

After robbing the store, the  two men walked out and one man brandishing a  gun in his hand then fled on foot when they saw the officer. The off-duty officer chased down one man and placed him under arrest, the other men got away

The other three men are still on the loose at this time. No one was injured in the robbery.

A 16-year old male is in custody, but his name is not being released due to his age.

Police have located the get away car, a silver Nissan sedan and recovered a backpack full of cash stolen from the Rite Aid.

K-9 units worked the area where the car was located, but were unabale to locate the other three suspects.
