Mandatory water restrictions in parts of Madison CountyPublished 9:17am Monday, July 2, 2012
A mandatory Level 3 water restriction has been implemented to Harvest-Monrovia Water Authority customers effective immediately.
The mandatory restriction was issued due to the fact not enough customers took the voluntary restriction serious.
Personal with the Harvest-Monrovia Water Association said tank levels have declined below the 50% storage level, possibly affecting the water needed for drinking, normal household use and the ability to fight fires.
A Level 3 is defined as the following: Outside water use is prohibited except on Mondays and Wednesdays between the hours of 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. for even numbered addresses, and from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays for odd numbered addresses. No outside watering is allowed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Violators of the mandatory restrictions will be punished by fines and or disconnection of water service.
