Democrats, republicans to hold presidential debate watch parties

Tonight President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney will faceoff in their second debate.

The televised 90-minute debate starts at 8 p.m. Both the Madison County Democratic Party and the Madison County Republican Party will hold watch parties during the debate.

The Madison County Democratic Party will hold its presidential debate watch party tonight from 7-10 p.m. at its headquarters at 2835 North Memorial Parkway.

Refreshments will be served. There also will be debate bingo with prizes.

There will be a meet and greet of local candidates at 7 p.m. Following the presedential debate, there will be brief announcements and discussion at 9:30.

The Madison County Republican Party will start its presidential debate watch party at 7:15 p.m. at its headquarters at 806 Governors Drive.

Free pizza soda, and snacks will be provided.

The headquarters has about 50 chairs. The party recommends bringing a folding chair if available.
