HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville Women’s Tennis Organization (HWTA) held its annual member social last month and reminded members what the goals for the next year were and provided more information about future events.

HWTA President Karen Morris said that the organization has been great for her in the 15 years she has been apart of it and that this recent social was a fantastic way for members to mingle and gain information on upcoming events.

“The event’s purpose was to bring old and new members along with friends into the women’s tennis community,” Morris said.

Morris added that the benefits of being an HWTA member are unlimited when it comes to the world of women’s tennis.

“We have a membership book that gives you all the members and their USTA rankings so finding a player to hit with is easier,” she said. “We also have socials and member tournaments through out the year for all to enjoy and bring in speakers to the general meeting and keep all the members up to date on things happening with the tennis center and USTA.”

The next HWTA event will be their member’s only spring tournament April 26-28 with doubles, singles, regular and senior categories.
