Huntsville/Madison County square off with Indianapolis, voting ends Thursday

HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville and Madison County will square off against the City of Indianapolis in the “#SoMeT13US” Elite Eight on Thursday, March 20 to see who advances in the competition to host the 2013 Social Media Tourism Symposium.

The 12-hour voting period begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday and runs till 9 p.m. CST. Huntsville and Madison County advanced over Missoula, MT in the first round of voting garnering more votes than any other community.

The event is being sponsored by the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau and it is estimated $180,000 could be generated into the area if the conference is secured according to a press release by the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
