MADISON — After a system that was expected to bring snow showers into the area late Thursday into Friday fizzled out, a new chance of storms is possible only this time in the form of heavy rain and high winds.
The Huntsville/Madison County EMA held a briefing Friday afternoon and made aware the chances of severe weather hitting the area from 12:00 a.m. on Sunday into the early morning hours.
“We have a slight chance of severe weather early into Sunday morning,” Director John “Rusty” Russell said. “What we are expecting is a possibility of damaging winds and heavy rain.”
Russell said that the county and the entire state are expected to be affected.
“This system is going to be statewide,” he said. “It’s nothing too major but severe weather is always something we are always prepared for.”
