Police make arrest in American flag cutting case

HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville Police say a suspect by the name of Minh Van Pham was arrested and charged Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree for cutting down United States flags across Huntsville on April 1.

Police said that Pham, of Vietnamese decent, was protesting a war but did not say what war he was referring to. Police spokesman Harry Hobbs said that the suspect has a history of destroying property while conduction his protests.

Locations that had their flags cut down include, the Burger King on Memorial Parkway at Pratt Ave. and North Parkway, Calvary Hills Elementary School, the Holiday Inn on University Drive and the Holiday Inn Express on University Drive.
