HUNTSVILLE — The Huntsville Broadway Theatre League announced shows for the 2013-14 season at their annual luncheon.
New shows featured include Hello, Dolly!, Memphis the Musical, Million Dollar Quartet, Flashdance the Musical, Jersey Boys, Dinosaur Train Live, The Ten Tenors American Idiot and San Jose Taiko.
“We are very excited about the 2013-14 season,” Executive Director Andrew Willmon said. “They are brand new shows to this area and most of them are recent on Broadway. I think we have something for everyone and this will be a season that I think the community will respond well to.”
After the success of last season with shows like “The Adams Family” and “West Side Story”, Willmon said the upcoming season of shows will have a certain them to it.
“There is a great sort of line that goes through this season,” he said. “Whether it be the ‘Jersey Boys’ making it big, the music in ‘Memphis’ or even ‘Flashdance’, all have the making of a good story.”
Though all the shows have a certain theme, Willmon said he really doesn’t know going into each season what traits each show will posses.
“Every year you really don’t know what personality a season will take on,” he said. “But this year we know exactly what the theme is. They all fit together and there is great positive feel to each one.”
Season tickets and “pick three” will go on sale May 23. To order tickets call Broadway Theatre League at (256) 518-6155 or stop by the BTL office.
