HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville Police said they made an arrest in a weekend murder that was initially thought to be a traffic accident.
Police said Ezrhea Danyell Cherry was found in her vehicle at the intersection of Hester Lane & Searcy Drive at around 4:30 a.m. At first, officers thought Cherry was involved in a minor traffic accident. However after further investigation, it was concluded that Cherry was a victim of a homicide.
Police spokesman Harry Hobbs said investigators found Cherry partially clothed and with several gunshot wounds to her body. Hobbs added that a handgun was likely used.
Dominick Lewis Everson, 18, of Huntsville was arrested at around 5:30 p.m. on June 2 and was charged with First Degree Murder. No further details were available as of June 3 and the case remains under investigation.
