Richard Clare Steinmeyer Sr.

A memorial service for Richard Clare Steinmeyer Sr. was Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Shaneyfelt officiating.

Mr. Steinmeyer died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at a local hospital. He was a retired K-9 officer with the Madison Police Department, and a former major with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's auxiliary in Louisiana. He had previously worked for the Jefferson Parish Levee Board. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.


He is survived by his wife, Katherine A. Steinmeyer of Madison; two sons, Richard C. Steinmeyer Jr. and Robert C. Steinmeyer, both of Madison; one daughter, Debbie Steinmeyer Ploor of Seymour, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
