Sparkman trio signs scholarships

(Updated: Friday, February 16, 2007 9:39 AM CST)

Three members of the Sparkman varsity soccer team signed scholarships Thursday at the high school. Jordan and Laurel McKenzie each signed a scholarship with the University of West Florida and Meredith Taylor signed with Harding University. Both colleges are Division II institutions that participate in the same athletic conference, so the girls will face each other in competition. Jordan and Laurel are twin sisters and are the daughters of Sam and Diana McKenzie. Meredith is the daughter of Bobby and Janice Taylor. Pictured at the signing are: (Front, L-R) Laurel McKenzie, Meredith Taylor and Jordan McKenzie; (Back, L-R) Sparkman soccer coaches Tony Schroeder, Stacy Shamlin, Chris Bowden and Uwe Spiller.
