Margaret Collier Lowman
Mrs. Margaret Collier Lowman, 77 of Birmingham passed away Sunday, December 9 2007 at her home. Mrs. Lowman was born in Alabama and had been a life long resident of Birmingham. Mrs. Lowman was an artist who attended Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia and was an active member of Dominion Baptist Church in Birmingham.
Mrs. Lowman was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who filled her house with love. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Weber, and Katherine Ward. She is survived by her husband J. Allen Lowman M.D. of Birmingham; two sons Joseph A. Lowman III and wife Susan of Huntsville, Sid Collier Lowman and wife Elizabeth of Birmingham. Two daughters, Margaret Marie Lowman and Claire Hayes and husband Bart both of Birmingham. Mrs. Lowman has eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Lowman will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 at Dominion Baptist Church where friends may call one hour before service time with Pastor Mark Liddle officiating. A graveside service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Family request in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Presbyterian Home for Children, P.O. Box 577 Talladega Al. 35161.
