Mustangs ride high on road
Madison Academy, the two-time Class 3A state champions, improved to 17-7 overall with a 76-45 victory over Randolph. The Mustangs are now 4-0 in Area 14 play.
Kerron Johnson led Madison Academy with 19 points.
Dugan scored all of his points on five 3-pointers.
Todd Kilpatrick scored 16 points for Randolph.
Butler 51, Sparkman 21
Butler used a 22-0 run in the second half to roll to an easy win over Sparkman, its first since 2004.
Sparkman didn't have a player finish in double figures in the loss. Tevin Scruggs, Brian Blackmon and Theo Alexander all scored five points for the Senators.
Butler's Dallas Jones scored a game-high 14 points to help the Rebels pick up their 14th straight win of the season. Ryan Ervin added 12 points.
Girls' games
Madison Academy 71, Randolph 20
Madison Academy jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 51-point win over Randolph to improve to 14-4 overall and 4-0 in Class 3A, Area 14.
Haley Stewart scored 18 points for the Lady Mustangs, while Allie Stewart added 10 in the win.
Meg Hornsby was Randolph's leading scorer with six points.
Bob Jones 81, Grissom 30
Bob Jones limited Grissom to just 10 first-half points on the way to the 51-point victory over the Lady Tigers.
Bob Jones had five players finish in double figures, with Sametria Gideon leading the way with 14 points. Jasmine Greene and Shenika Harris both scored 12 points and Jericka Kinlaw finished with 11 points. Jala Harris chipped in with 10 points.
The Lady Patriots opened up a 36-10 lead in the first half and were never threatened.
Sparkman 79, Butler 16
Sparkman picked up its 19th victory of the season with a dominating performance against Butler on the road.
The Lady Senators opened up a 16-4 margin in the first quarter and went on a 22-1 run to lead by 33 points at the end of the first half.
Adrienne Webb led all scorers with 20 points. Danielle Vaughn added 13 for the Lady Senators. Jamiee Freeman chipped in with 13 points and 10 steals, while Alexis Butler finished with 10 points.
Butler's top scorer, Shaniqua White, was limited to just four points.
