BJHS wrestlers dominate Clem Invitational

Bob Jones' wrestlers dominated the Dick Clem Invitational last weekend, winning the overall team title by 73.5 points.

The Patriots finished with 235 points after crowning six individual champions in the tournament held at Bob Jones High School Saturday.


Anthony Bruno, Russell Nolan, Gary Ray, Foster Kreuger, Eric Hamilton and Edmund Semmes all won their respective age group titles for the Patriots.

Buckhorn finished second with 162.5 points, while Grissom was third. Brookwood finished fourth overall.

Bob Jones had a second team entered in the tournament that finished fifth overall.

The rest of the tournament field included second teams from Grissom and Buckhorn, along with squads from Deshler, Gadsden, Athens and Westminster Christian.

Bob Jones will compete in the Alabama High School Athletic Association's Section 4 championships this weekend at Oxford High School.

The AHSAA state tournament will be held Feb. 8-9, at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.
