Shelby to speak at Chamber breakfast

(Updated: Thursday, March 27, 2008 10:38 AM CDT)

U. S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) will join the members of the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County for a visit Apr. 7 at 7:30 a.m. The county visit, which is open to the public, will take place at the Von Braun Center, located at 700 Monroe St. in Huntsville.

Senator Shelby will address the legislative agenda for the second session of 110th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and Alabama. Following his remarks, Senator Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.

"Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government," said Shelby. "This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation as the 110th Congress reconvenes."

Shelby has held more than 1,400 county visits since being elected to serve Alabama. As part of his commitment to Alabama residents, Sen. Shelby holds a meeting in each county once a year.

This meeting is open to the public. For more information and reservations, contact Tina Leopold at 535-2031 or tleopold@hsvchamber.com.
