Bob Jones beats Mountain Brook

Bob Jones got goals from Paul Tassonne, Jared Cox and David Robinson in a 3-2 victory over Mountain Brook Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

Ryan Haws held the Spartans scoreless, recording five saves in the Patriots' victory.

The Patriots, now 15-5 overall, will host Spain Park Saturday in the quarterfinals.

Mtn. Brook 3, Bob Jones 0

The Lady Patriots' season came to an end with a 3-0 loss to Mountain Brook.

The Lady Spartans will take on Vestavia Hills in a Class 6A quarterfinal match Saturday.

Madison Academy 1, Catholic 0

Halie Loney scored the Lady Mustangs' game-winner.
