Lund to star in "Maltese Falcon"

(Updated: Thursday, May 15, 2008 8:58 AM CDT)

The Renaissance Theatre will host another performance of the "Maltese Falcon" after the success of its showing in April where they had to turn some people away at the door.

The play is based on the book, but director Jim Zielinski said that if you have seen the 1941 movie you will be familiar with dialogue in the play, but notice some differences in the costumes and scenery, because the book and play are set in 1929 - 1930 while the movie is set in the forties.

Amanda Lund, a former student at Bob Jones High School, will play Brigid O'Shaughnessy. Lund said that this is a new role for her, because she is use to playing more comedic parts.

Tickets will be on sale at the door or you can pre-order them from 536- 3117 from Lincoln Center Antiques or the Renaissance Theatre, both have the same number. Tickets cost $10 for student and seniors, $12 for everyone else. The show is set for May 16-17. All tickets are general admission meaning seats are on a first come first serve basis. Zielinski suggest that people show up before 7:30 p.m.
