Willie Lockhart
Willie Ruth Burks Lockhart, 83, of Madison died May 7 at her residence. Ruth attended Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on the Usher Board. She had a special love for animals and dolls. Ruth is survived by daughters, Evris P. Kelly and husband Arthur of Madison, Ellen Turner of Cleveland, Doris Lockhart Bah and husband Thierno of Rockville, Md., and Joyce Bruce of Hyatt, Md.; sons, Roland D. Lockhart and wife Sandra of Conyers, Ga., Jesse Lockhart of Florida, Ernest Lockhart and wife Vivian, and Charles Lockhart and wife Junia, all of Huntsville; brother, Johnny Burks and wife Sadie of Chicago; 40 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services were held at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dave McGlathery officiating. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
