Bobby Wayne Wilburn

Bobby Wayne Wilburn, 68, of Harvest died Monday. Mr. Wilburn had retired from the State of Alabama and was a member of the Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Oden Wilburn; daughter, Cynthia Wilburn Ocampo; two sons, Dale and Eric Wilburn; five sisters, Ruby Potter, Idella Smith, Mary Chisholm, Shirley Dreitzler and Jean Williams; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Berryhill Funeral Home. Funeral services were at Berryhill Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Inman officiating. Interment was Huntsville Memory Gardens.

Mr. John Downie Lawson Jr., 84, of Madison died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Crestwood Medical Center. Mr. Lawson was a veteran of World War II; he served in the U.S. Air Corps' Cottontails- 723rd Squadron of the 450th Bomb Group. Surviving as a Prisoner of War in Germany, he was awarded the Purple Heart. After 25 years as an engineer for Texas Instruments, he retired from Planning Research Corp. He served as choirmaster for 20 years at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his sons, Thomas Bradford Lawson and Russell Donald Lawson. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Jeanne Lawson; four sons, Clifford Allan, Bruce Rodger, James Scott and wife Carolyn and David Andrew and wife Robin, all of Madison; six granddaughters, Tammy and Damaris of Dallas, Texas; Carol Ann, Emily, Elysa and Jenna Lawson, all of Madison; two grandsons, Matthew Lawson of Huntsville and Brian of Dallas, Texas; two nephews and one niece. Madison Chapel Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements. There will be a memorial service at Madison Chapel Funeral Home at 10 A.M. Friday, May 16, 2008; Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. An online register book can be signed at www.madisonchapelfuneralhome.com
