UAH receives federal grant

(Updated: Friday, September 12, 2008 2:03 PM CDT)

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has awarded $982,300 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) for its proposal to support NOAA’s air quality and climate mission goals.

“We must do all we can to ensure a clean and healthy environment for future generations,” said Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Alabama, ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science. “The scientists at UAH, in conjunction with NOAA, will use this funding to support air quality remote sensing and climate mission goals. Meeting these goals will help ensure that Americans continue to breathe clean and healthy air.”
