Earl Wayne Elrod Jr.
Earl Wayne Elrod Jr., 45, of Madison died Sept. 10, 2008 at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Elrod was born in Huntsville and was a lifelong resident of Madison County. He was a Senior Account Manager for TDK Corporation of America for 15 years. Mr. Elrod graduated from Bob Jones High School in 1981, and was inducted to the Bob Jones Hall of Fame in 2003. He was an ordained deacon at First Baptist Church of Madison.
Mr. Elrod was also a founding member of the TOC Kickin’ Bass Coaches Tournament and of the Bodda Getta Duck Club of Almyra, AR. His favorite things in life were hunting, fishing, and Auburn football, but most of all his family. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Elrod is survived by his wife Laura Bergstresser Elrod, his son Austin Elrod, his mother Essie Jane Elrod, his sister Gina Elrod, his grandmother Marie Elrod, his mother and father in law Nancy and Philip Bergstresser, brother and sister in law Jeff and Casey Bergstresser, nieces and nephews Shelby, Sydney, and William Bergstresser and Tyler Hilliard. His extended family includes Bill, Joy, Lindsey, and Leah Parker; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and friends too numerous to count. Mr. Elrod’s visitation was Sept. 12 at Madison Chapel Funeral Home. Service was Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church of Madison. Burial followed the service at Faith Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
