Nick D. Foster
Nick D. Foster, 70, of Decatur died Sept. 12, 2008.
He was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Wilkesboro, N.C., to Elizabeth Duncan Foster and Arlie Roscoe Foster. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1960 and went to work for NASA, where he was involved in the Apollo and Saturn projects and the development of the Space Shuttle and Hubble Telescope, and retired as division chief of configuration management. After moving to this area in 1960 he married his wife, the former Juliet Tunstill.
Visition was held Sept. 15 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Funeral service with a graveside service were held Sept. 15 in Roselawn Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Dennis Monk, Reigh Greenwall, and the Decatur Jaycees who served with him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
