New 24-hour gym opens in Madison, uses software to track clients progress

(Updated: Friday, October 24, 2008 4:10 PM CDT)

Bender’s Gym has opened its third location in North Alabama in Madison, and is currently one of Madison’s only 24-hour gyms.

Bender’s Gym also has locations in Decatur and Hartselle and they are looking to add more.

The gym offers state of the art equipment. Each cardio machine in Bender’s has its own flat screen TV.

Along with the cardio equipment Bender’s also has free weights and exercise machines, three tanning beds and more access to all of those are included in the membership.

Group classes and personal instruction that includes the use of a new fitness training software that allows trainers to customize workouts and diets for the members is also available.

The software calculates health age, which is the age your body is on the inside, and determines your current health risk.

Then it calculates how long it will take to reach certain fitness goals, according to Amanda Bender, owner of Bender’s Gym.

Memberships start at $43 a month for 12 months for a single membership and $58 a month for 12 months for a family membership.

Each new member receives six personal training sessions for $6 and their group fitness programs start on Nov. 1.

Members are allowed access at night by the gym’s fingerprint access system.

Bender’s is planning an open house on Saturday Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 2 from 1-5 p.m and there will be free food and door prizes.

One of those door prizes will be a 37 inch Sony Television.

“We are excited to be open in Madison,” Bender said, “and we have the latest and greatest in equipment and services for you.”

Bender’s Gym is located at 97 Hughes Road, Suite K, in Madison.
