Andrew Jackson “A.J.” Jones Jr., 85, of Madison died Oct. 22, 2008, at his residence in Madison.

Mr. Jones was born in Jackson County and had been a resident of Madison County all his life.

He retired from civil service after 39 years and served his country as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. Mr. Jones was a member of West Huntsville Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Whittaker Jones and Andrew Jackson Jones Sr.

Survivors include his wife, B.J. Jones of Madison; two daughters, Shelia Hornbuckle of Huntsville and Nici Patton of Madison; four sons, Lee Trulson and James Jones of Hazel Green, Mike Patton of Madison, and Michael Jones of Tennessee; a sister, Estella Crosby of Madison; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at Madison Funeral Home with the funeral held on Friday, Oct. 26 at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Owen officiating.

Burial followed in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
