Robert L. Truax Nov. 21, 2008

Robert L. Truax, 80, of Huntsville died Nov. 21, 2008 at his home.

He had been a resident of Huntsville for nine years. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas, a master’s degree from the University of Mississippi, and a doctorate from Oklahoma State University.

He taught mathematics in the Crossett, Ark., school system, Southern Arkansas University, and the University of Mississippi. He retired from Ole Miss in 1994, having taught there for 27 years.


Survivors include his wife, Nancy Truax; daughter, Leigh Losset and husband Keith of Madison; son, James Truax and wife Doris of Selma; granddaughter, Courtney Silverbach and husband Ted of Kennesaw, Ga.; grandson, Andrew Truax of Selma; and sisters, Joann Smith of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Doris White of Gillet, Ark.

Graveside services were held Nov. 24 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Larry Wright officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huntsville Public Library.
