Bob Jones wins pair in tourney

HOOVER - Bob Jones knocked off third-ranked Homewood 60-58 behind a 19-point performance from Reggie Ragland in the fifth-place game of the Sneaky Pete Jaguar Classic at Spain Park High School.

Chris Caudle finished with 14 points in the win. Levi Randolph added 11 points as Bob Jones improved to 12-5 overall.

The Patriots are currently ranked No. 8 in the ASWA Class 6A prep boys’ poll.


Marcus Polnett scored a game-high 20 points for Homewood.

Bob Jones 71, Ramsay 63

The Patriots got 16 points from Chris Caudle in a 71-63 victory over Ramsay.

Bob Jones’ Reggie Ragland added 12 points in the win.

Vestavia 49, Bob Jones 48

Bob Jones’ Tyson Jones scored 12 points in the Patriots’ 49-48 loss to Vestavia in pool play of the tournament.

Levi Randolph and Levi Brackett scored nine points each for the Patriots.

Regina Lewis Classic

Sparkman 68, Hendersonville 36


Sparkman, the top-ranked team in Class 6A, remainined unbeaten on the season with an easy 68-36 victory over Hendersonville, Tenn. Friday in the Regina Lewis Classic in Hendersonville.

Sparkman’s Chatia Kelsey led all scorers with 19 points. Adrienne Webb and Jamiee Freeman finished with 18 and 10 points respectively as the Lady Senators ran their season mark to 13-0.

Regular season

Madison Academy 68, Huntsville 63

Madison Academy picked up a 68-63 victory over Class 6A Huntsville Friday night at home.

Kerron Johnson scored 27 points to lead the Mustangs in the win. Matthew Jordan finished with 14 points.

Madison Academy improved to 12-2 overall.
